Neverless, a UK-born fintech founded by three former Revolut executives, contacted our agency to help communicate the simultaneous launch of its app in two seemingly very different markets: Spain and Argentina.
The dual objective was ambitious: to position Neverless as the only app offering zero fees for crypto investing in two key markets and generate enough impact to attract users and strategic partners in both regions. To achieve this, BAMBU designed a public relations strategy combining creativity, a powerful narrative and precise timing.
The challenge: building brand awareness in two very different markets
Launching an app in one country is already a considerable challenge, but doing so in two different cultural, economic and media environments adds another layer of complexity.
Although Spain and Argentina share a language, their economic realities are quite different, as is the adoption of savings and investment apps. In Spain, people are beginning to use these apps as a way to invest over the medium and long term. In Argentina, however, crypto investing has become much more widespread as a means of protecting savings against inflation.
Our work involved adapting Neverless’s message to both realities while maintaining a consistent global brand identity.
One of the key elements we used to increase the company’s visibility and strengthen its reputation was the fact that it had been founded by three former executives of Revolut, the leading British neobank. This generated significant interest within the industry and among the media, leading to interviews with the relevant spokespersons in Spain and Argentina about Neverless’s origins and the story of its three founders.
The story was covered by media outlets including La Vanguardia, The New Barcelona Post, Cointelegraph and El Publicista, among others.
What we learned from the Neverless PR campaign
After reaching millions of people across different countries through press releases, print and radio interviews, as well as opinion articles written by the company’s spokespersons and published in specialist media, these are our main takeaways:
- A successful international launch requires an in-depth understanding of local audiences. This means looking beyond demographic data and exploring the habits, concerns, values and cultural preferences that influence their behaviour. Only then can you address their interests directly and create a relevant message. Thanks to our PR team in Argentina and its first-hand understanding of the local situation, we identified the most compelling news angles for journalists.
- Building a strong narrative requires a balance between the global and the local. Neverless’s core story was clear: an app that empowers people to manage their investments simply and, above all, securely. We then adapted this message to the local trends and needs of the Spanish and Argentinian markets.
- In communications, timing is everything. Launching a message at the wrong moment can weaken its impact, especially in markets with very different dynamics and rapidly changing political and economic environments. Our preliminary research and local expertise enabled us to achieve the right media impact in each country targeted by Neverless’s communications strategy.
At BAMBU, we believe public relations are about much more than generating media buzz. They are about building genuine and meaningful conversations between a company and its audience. With Neverless, we demonstrated how a well-designed PR strategy can do more than launch a product: it can also establish its position in highly competitive markets.
